Diabetes UK Colchester

Diabetes UK. DUK is the largest Diabetes organisation in the UK, and DUK Colchester is the local branch. DUK nationally reflects the fact that 90% of diabetics are Type 2 diabetics, dominated by the 50+ age group. 


Helping Type 1 Diabetics and their families locally. The DUK Colchester branch is looking to do more for local Type 1 diabetics, especially for younger people (under 50s!) and their families. This group has the strength of the national organisation behind it, as well as enthusiastic local supporters. It covers the Colchester and Tendring areas.


What's happening? The local group has plans to meet monthly, at centres in Colchester, Harwich and Clacton. A programme of events is under preparation, and our own new website. We will be re-launching in Autumn 2012, but there's lots going on this spring and summer.
