Just another diabetes group?

OH NO, NOT ANOTHER DIABETES SUPPORT GROUP FOR NORTH-EAST ESSEX?


Stick with us, this is something different. Colchester and north-east Essex has several voluntary groups out there, looking to support you and your family. And, between us, we want to ensure that anyone, people with type 1 diabetes or their families, can link with others going through similar experiences. 

We know that there are people affected by diabetes in Colchester and Tendring areas, who feel isolated by the condition and its management, who have never met another type 1 diabetic, and who might sometimes want to meet up with others to discuss their approach to living with the condition - OR JUST TO HAVE A RANT!


This website is the "way in" to the local voluntary support network. We are not medically trained, and are not here to give medical advice. But we've got plenty of experience of living with the disease. Check on the pages for each of the three local groups, see what you fancy, and join in.
We also give links to support groups just outside our area, for people who are borderline Colchester/ NE Essex! And we give links to national organisations, such as Circle D, JDRF and DUK.
This website is here mainly to give us a web presence. Details of our current news and events are  elsewhere. We collectively promote our news and events on Facebook at "Diabetes Colchester-Tendring" so pop over there.

"Colchester Circle D" and "NEED-T1" (North East Essex Diabetics - Type 1) are based on Facebook, and DUK Colchester will be launching a new website in autumn 2012. For information about these three groups, check out the pages on this blogspot. We all work together, and share our members.
